resources for effective youth ministry
Fall is always an exciting time for youth groups - kids are back in school, new kids are part of the youth group and the new year of ministry is getting into full swing! In this our second issue of "About the Youth Department" we will look at many new and old excellent resources for youth ministry. As in our sister issue, "About the Children's Department, we are looking at several resources to include in a church book fair - we need to encourage our teens to read the many excellent books available to challenge them in their walk with God and to read for enjoyment as well.
We will also begin to take a look at some of the ministries that offer summer mission opportunities for teens. Once a teen has trusted Christ for salvation, has begun to learn what the Bible is about and how to apply it to their day-in-day-out lives, our teens need opportunities to learn to serve. There are several organizations committed to providing an opportunity for teens to participate in real mission trips and in this issue - and the next two as well, we will look at some of these ministries.
I hope you will find information, ideas and resources to help your teens in this issue. As always, feel free to e-mail me with any questions, ideas or comments - I love to hear from you!
